Wichita Dental Implants

Replace one or a mouthful of teeth with dental implants. Many of our patients seek a permanent solution to missing teeth. There are many technologies available to us, depending on our patients’ priorities, values and expectations. These technologies include dental implant placement, bridgework, partial or full dentures.

Everyone deserves a beautiful smile. When you lose your teeth, your jawbone shrinks and your remaining teeth can shift their position, which can make you look older. Dental implants help prevent bone loss and maintain your present bite, preserving your function and aesthetics.

We can add years to the health and beauty of your smile by replacing lost teeth with dental implants. In most cases, the result is so natural others would be surprised to learn that teeth had actually been replaced. More advantages of dental implants include:

  • Improved, more youthful appearance
  • Improved oral comfort by replacing dentures
  • Improved self esteem by bringing back your smile
  • Improved oral health
  • Improved speech, especially as a replacement to dentures
  • Easier to eat as compared to using dentures
  • Better durability and convenience

The doctors at Frankenbery and Johnson have completed advanced training implant courses, and continue to keep up-to-date on the newest implant information. They have placed hundreds of implants and hold membership in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Implants are placed into the jawbone, where there is minimal discomfort and a painless period of healing.

Placing implants is typically quick and easy. Implants are stable and secure, so you can comfortably eat all your favorite foods. With traditional methods, when you are missing a single tooth, the teeth on either side of it are ground down to make a bridge. Implants do not require cutting healthy teeth. Implants are placed into the jawbone, where the titanium implant acts as the root of your tooth. After a period of healing, a porcelain crown made to fit your implant is secured to the head of the implant, called an abutment. The crown looks and functions just like a natural tooth. You can easily replace one missing tooth, or several. Implants are a long-lasting solution—often for life!

We use only the best labs for our implants and crowns. Nobel Biocare in California manufactures high-quality titanium implants.

Mini Dental Implants

This titanium implant is used for denture stabilization. This keeps a denture in place without being loose and moving around, which can cause embarrassment and discomfort. As with traditional implants, these are placed in the jawbone. Mini implants are much smaller in diameter and can be used in those that do not have bone support for traditional implants to hold their denture. Instead of crowns being placed on the implants (like traditional implants), the denture itself is placed and fixed onto the head of the implant. This is a small ball shape. A socket with a rubber o-ring is shaped into the inside of the denture, which allows the denture to snap into place over the ball on the implant comfortably and easily. This is a wonderful solution for those that are seeking a more comfortable and cost effective means of tooth replacement. 3M manufactures our mini dental implants.
